Back-To-School Information

Post Office hours 

鈥孴he 国产探花 Post Office will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 30, and Sunday, Aug. 31. Please pick up any packages by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29. Please make arrangements for anything you may need over the weekend. The Post Office will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, for package pickup.

All are invited to join new students and their families for lunch under the tent on Upper South Park Lawn at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.

鈥孨ew Student Convocation

Cheer on the Class of 2029! Beginning at 9:45 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 2, faculty, staff, and returning students are invited to line the walkway between the Tang and the tent on Upper South Park to cheer on the newest members of our community as they process, beginning at 10 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m. In the event of severe weather, Convocation will be held in Zankel Music Center for new students only. For those who cannot attend, .

Founder鈥檚 Day Picnic 

Celebrate the start of the academic year from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the tent at Upper South Park. Murray-Aikins Dining Hall will be closed during this time. The Office of College Events is also seeking volunteers to help serve food; contact collegeevents@skidmore.edu to get involved.

Important traffic reminders

Over 400 students will be arriving at campus on Thursday, Aug. 28, with the remainder of first-year students arriving on Sunday, Aug. 31. 

  • 鈥孭lease use the Clinton Street entrance instead of the North Broadway entrance, especially between 8 and 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28. 
  • 鈥孴o access Greenberg Child Care Center, use the Clinton Street entrance; take a left towards Palamountain Hall, and use the service entrance. 
  • 鈥孎or detailed information about parking lot closures and other information, please see the email sent by Campus Safety on Aug. 21.

Sweet Honey in the Rock comes to 国产探花 for In It 10

As part of the In It 10 series, 国产探花 is delighted to welcome Sweet Honey in the Rock to Zankel Music Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26. This event is free for 国产探花 students, staff, faculty, and retirees, but you鈥檒l need to reserve your complimentary ticket using . Tickets for partners, friends, and family are also available for or at the box office. 鈥孴he first Skidtoberfest will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, on Upper South Park during Homecoming and Family Weekend. will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday Aug. 29. It will be closed Saturday, Aug. 30, and reopen for the week on Sunday, Aug. 31, with hours of operation 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginning Sunday, Aug. 31 the 国产探花 Shop will be sponsoring a dorm room/office plant sale featuring greenery from Brookside Nursery.

国产探花 teams are back in action for the 2025 season! Women鈥檚 soccer opens at Wachenheim Field at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 against Brockport. Men鈥檚 soccer kicks off its season at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 on home turf against Salem State. This weekend, field hockey travels to Maine for two season-opening games, and women鈥檚 volleyball has two matches at Springfield College on Saturday, Aug. 30.
